Topic 3: Family

I'm going to talk a little bit of my family, I got two older brothers, I'm the little one hahaha. Talking about my parents I would say that in appearance I look like my mother. People say  my eyes and skin is similar to my mother, I inherited my height from my father. In personality, I can say that I have traits from both father and mother. My father is more logical and disciplined, he prefers structure, he can be argumentative, loyal, objective, practical, capable, directed, confident, conciliatory and forgiving. I inherited these traits from my father.  My mother is very careful, detail-oriented, organized, creative, honest, loyal, perceptive. My parents are active people, my mother likes to do aerobics every week, my father works out every other week, so I think  I inherited "my active life" from both. My parents use glasses to read, I am happy that I didn't inherit that from them.

I found this interesting image, this image is according to Myers and Briggs, it is based on a 16 types of personalities. I encourage you to find out what is your personality type. If you want to share your personality , post it on the comments.

Topic 2 :What I want to do!

Hello again, this is  my second post. In the last post I wrote about an unknown fact about me. Well, what I am going to do in my life? It's a big question, being a doctor it was my dream since I was a kid. During my high school I was determined to be a doctor; however, suddenly my mind started to change, I played soccer with my school's team, also I started to practice with the lower divisions of a professional soccer team. I had to clear my mind about it.
I had to think about  pros and cons  of both careers. In one hand as a pro-soccer player maybe an injury could end my career at any time, in the other hand  a medical career could take approximately 12 years to finish  and you never stop to learn or read. Here I am, I'm a person who love challenges, and my goal is to continue my medical career in the United States, I studied  for four years in my country; I hope I can transfer all my credits or at least half of them, to make it shorter my path. Even though I decided to study medicine, I'm still playing soccer, I played with my University's team; now, I've been playing for one year with a team in Southern California, called "Buena Park FC". I would love to develop both careers; however, according to my experience that will be impossible. So, it has to be like that, one will be my main career and soccer will be my hobby. I'm enrolled at Cerritos College for fall, I'm looking to complete some units of required English to transfer to medical school.

Topic 1 : Padilla's introduction

Hello, my name is David, I am starting  this blog because, I am taking  "Advanced reading and writing ESL  class"  and I believe this is a good way of practice. Let me introduce myself, I was born in El Salvador, many years ago, specifically  in the city of Santa Ana (CA  has a city with the same name , however my city is older, and I could say we are the original one hahaha). I am going to share information about my country and city, El Salvador is a tiny piece of land it is about 21,041 km2,or 8,124 square miles, our population is about 7,000,000.  These pictures are our emblematic places, "Teatro Nacional de Santa Ana" on your right.

On your left you see " Volcan Ilamatepeq" and next to the volcano " Lago de Coatepeque" , this is a volcanoes complex and its part of  "Ring of Fire", this complex consists on four volcanoes, "Lago de Coatepeque", "Volcan Ilamatepeq", "Cerro Verde", "Volcan de Izalco". As an interesting fact " Lago de Coatepeque" used to be an active volcano thousands of years ago, after its powerful eruption, this volcano becomes a lake. Nowadays, two of them are active, "Ilamatepeq" and " Izalco", the last eruption recorded of " Ilamatepeq" was in 2005. This  was a little introduction of my city, talking about me I have been living in CA for one year, I have been studying English since last summer. In my spare time  I like to be active, play soccer, hiking, running, gym or any physical activity is welcome. Moreover, I enjoy the environment and nature. for that reason I have been working with  a non-profit organization in my country called "Un Pulmon Mas", one of its goals is keep safe the environment. One thing that people don't know about me is, I studied medicine  for four years in my country, and my main goal in this country is to finish my career.
