Hello, my name is David, I am starting this blog because, I am taking "Advanced reading and writing ESL class" and I believe this is a good way of practice. Let me introduce myself, I was born in El Salvador, many years ago, specifically in the city of Santa Ana (CA has a city with the same name , however my city is older, and I could say we are the original one hahaha). I am going to share information about my country and city, El Salvador is a tiny piece of land it is about 21,041 km2,or 8,124 square miles, our population is about 7,000,000. These pictures are our emblematic places, "Teatro Nacional de Santa Ana" on your right.
On your left you see " Volcan Ilamatepeq" and next to the volcano " Lago de Coatepeque" , this is a volcanoes complex and its part of "Ring of Fire", this complex consists on four volcanoes, "Lago de Coatepeque", "Volcan Ilamatepeq", "Cerro Verde", "Volcan de Izalco". As an interesting fact " Lago de Coatepeque" used to be an active volcano thousands of years ago, after its powerful eruption, this volcano becomes a lake. Nowadays, two of them are active, "Ilamatepeq" and " Izalco", the last eruption recorded of " Ilamatepeq" was in 2005. This was a little introduction of my city, talking about me I have been living in CA for one year, I have been studying English since last summer. In my spare time I like to be active, play soccer, hiking, running, gym or any physical activity is welcome. Moreover, I enjoy the environment and nature. for that reason I have been working with a non-profit organization in my country called "Un Pulmon Mas", one of its goals is keep safe the environment. One thing that people don't know about me is, I studied medicine for four years in my country, and my main goal in this country is to finish my career.
Hi David,
ReplyDeleteI hope your family doesn't live too close to the volcano. Was the eruption big? Was it dangerous? I didn't know you studied medicine before. Do you want to be a doctor? I'm glad you are in our summer class!
Yes I studied medicine, and yes I want to be a doctor. It wasn't a big eruption. My family lives about 20 miles away from the volcano.
DeleteHi David,
ReplyDeleteThe view in your country looks so beautiful, but the volcano sounds scary. I really like your experience to save the environment.
Hi, yes it's a beautiful country. The volcanoes aren't close to the cities.
